i read this story to my students today, because let's face it, we've all had them...terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day(s). it's a cute story about a boy that just about everything goes wrong for him that day. i can relate with this story over the past few days, and here's why.
- i ordered a new air miles credit card in time to buy a plane ticket home, and it didn't come in time. the plane ticket went up, i bought the more expensive ticket, and the card shows up the next day.
- my new bathing suit that i ordered online is set to arrive in san diego the day after my weekend at the beach.
- my vacation is planned for leaving on saturday, but the snow days tell me i teach until monday.
- contracts for teaching next year are ready to sign on monday, but i'm leaving for vacation on saturday.
- my new sun glasses i ordered will be in the store on saturday, but i leave before they open.
my approach to all of this is to remain relaxed and confident that things will work out. my last day of work is on friday and that's something to celebrate! i'm really going to miss my students and this will be the first year that i'll probably cry a little:( everything will fall into place...it just has to.
That sucks Sherri! I hope everything turns out. It will all be ok and we are so excited to see you, bathing suit or not : ) We have that book too and read it to the boys. I definitely can relate!
